missing Maui

We came back from Maui yesterday after my super awesome sister and her bf came to pick us up early in the morning. We've gone from 80 degree weather down to the 60's and cold rain in a matter of 24 hours. Boy do I miss it!

Hopefully I can find time to post our pictures this afternoon. It was truly an amazing trip, though -- we had a chance to see lots of sights, but also took a couple of afternoons to just relax and swim at the beach and the pool and enjoy the AWESOME resort. I LOVED it!!

Sunday Morning

Feeling very melancholy Miranda like today.

Thank goodness for good friends and the fair -- I need some TLC today.

I am humbled.

Thank you Lord, for reminding me why I do this when I needed the reminder the most.

I've been putting in 10 - 11 hour days every day since school started and I am *exhausted*. This morning I barely made it up the stairs. I knew I was getting close to being burnt out.

But then one of my students told me about how she sleeps in the garage with no insulation when I asked her why she kept sneezing in class. And then my other student told me that his mother was dead, when I questioned what his mother would say when she found out how poorly he had behaved.

Makes me want to reach out and hug all of my students, because I sincerely love them as my own. I always do.
