It's like I'm 21 again!

Just came back from "clubbing" (or something like it) at Villa Sorriso in Old Town. I haven't had this much fun in SO.darn.LONG! It felt like I was back in college again :) Such an awesome group of people to hang out with, and a pretty good venue too -- nice and airy and open.

I'm so grateful to have the friends and support that I do -- if there is one good thing about my career, it is that it has opened up my heart to a whole new world of friends.

It's out!

I took the day off yesterday to have my dentist appointment. I haven't gone to the dentist since 1998/2002 -- the records are not clear. Needless to say, I hate the dentist. The doctor. Anyone who checks me and has the potential to tell me anything scary scares me.

With sweaty palms and a beating heart, (and after waiting for nearly an hour), the doctor came in, checked me out and said exactly what I had figured-- my wisdom tooth had erupted and needed to be taken out. ASAP. What I didn't know was that ASAP = NOW. He also scheduled me for a deep cleaning because 6 years of plaque build up is not a good thing. Boo. :(

So, I had over my credit card, go get a pep talk from Damon, and wait some more. They put me in a new room and in walks a new doctor, Dr. J (a cutie to boot!) :) He was pretty good at calming my fears, talking through what he was doing, etc. He injected the anesthesia into my gums, which hurt (although not as much as I thought it would), and started the cleaning, which I barely felt. When that was done, he went in for the tooth which, although didn't hurt, sounded TERRIBLE. Apparently it was quite the stubborn tooth which required quite a bit of elbow grease to remove. Yay. Even for a Bruin, not bad :)

Yesterday I was still able to eat regularly, although gingerly so as not to disturb the bone they placed in my gums to seal up the wound. No need for an ice pack, and no pain. Only mild discomfort from the extraction. Dr. J made my day!

In two weeks I go in for the left side cleaning. This time I'm ready -- bring it on!
